Our privacy approach
whyzo hasn’t launched yet. Before it goes on sale, we’ll publish a full Privacy Policy and a notice for parents that meet the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Until then, this page explains how we’re designing whyzo, and how this website handles your information.
This website
This site has no analytics, no ads and no tracking scripts, and it doesn’t ask you for personal information. Like any website, it runs on a hosting provider — Cloudflare — that processes basic technical data, such as your IP address, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
If you email us
If you write to hello@whyzo.ai, we use your email address and message to reply and, if you ask us to, to tell you when whyzo is ready. We don’t sell your address or share it for marketing. Our email is hosted by Google Workspace.
How whyzo is designed to handle your child’s information
- It listens when asked. whyzo is designed to listen when your child presses its button to talk — not all day.
- Voice is used to answer. Your child’s voice is turned into text so whyzo can understand the question. We don’t keep recordings of your child’s voice.
- Photos are shown, not kept. whyzo has no camera. A parent can send it a photo from the whyzo app so it can see what their child is asking about. The photo is used in that conversation only and is never saved; if whyzo doesn’t see it within 10 minutes, it’s deleted.
- Memory is the parent’s choice. whyzo doesn’t remember past conversations unless a parent turns on memory for their child. Then whyzo keeps short notes, like a favorite animal or a new hobby — never addresses, school names, health details, feelings or secrets. Parents can see, add and delete every note in the app. Turning memory off deletes them all, and each note is deleted 12 months after it was written.
- Parents are in charge. Before a child can use whyzo, we’ll ask a parent for verifiable consent. Parents will be able to see the information we have about their child, delete it, and stop further collection at any time.
- No ads, no selling. We won’t sell your child’s personal information, show ads to your child, or use their information to build an advertising profile.
Who helps us answer
To answer a question, whyzo relies on a few service providers. Each receives only what it needs for its part of the answer:
- Cloudflare runs our servers.
- Anthropic provides the Claude AI model that writes whyzo’s answer from the text of the question, looks at photos a parent sends, and writes memory notes when a parent turns memory on.
- ElevenLabs turns your child’s speech into text, and turns whyzo’s answer into a spoken voice.
Our full Privacy Policy will name every provider and what it receives before whyzo launches.
